This is the book that got me into reading.
At age 13 my English teacher at the time noticed I was struggling to move forward onto more teenage appropriate books so he suggested I read The diary of a young girl. Due to being a slow reader it took me nearly 2 years to finish but I found it so good the I didn’t want it to ever end!
Anne is such a likeable girl who is very extroverted and full of creativity. Through reading this book you follow her on a historical journey as a Jewish person in the time of WW2 but also her journey from a child to a teenager. The families are living in constant fear leaving you in moments of tears. But this book is not all sorrow, you can also smile at the witty things Anne says and the deep thoughts she shares.
5 OUT OF 5 STARS.
